6 ground rules to keep class fun

1

Show up consistently

Miss no more than 2 sessions per course to stay connected with the whole group.

2

Be on time and present

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and keep phones away for the full 2 hours.

3

Take the fun seriously

Class is full of laughter, but everyone respects the work and their scene partners.

4

No make-up sessions

Each class builds its own pace and group energy, so we don't offer make-up sessions.

5

No refunds

Tuition is non-refundable if a student cancels or drops out for personal reasons.

6

Keep an open mind

Come to class with an open mind, ready to embrace new ways of thinking.

Quick FAQ

Frequently asked questions

I've never acted or been on stage before. Can I still join?

Absolutely. This class doesn't teach you to “act” or play a character—it helps you drop your guard and return to your most authentic self. No stage experience needed.

What if I'm introverted, shy, or afraid of crowds?

You'll fit right in. Our class is a safe, judgment-free space. Many introverted students start out hesitant, only to warm up and get hooked on the class vibe after 2–3 sessions. Read more about what happens when introverts take improv.

Do I need to be funny, quick-witted, or talkative?

Not at all. Laughter in improv comes from daring to speak your honest thoughts, not from rehearsed gags. Those moments of pause and hesitation often turn out to be the most beautiful ones.

What will I get out of it?

Six core skill areas: focus, creativity, deep listening, honest response, communication, and collaboration. In everyday life: more confidence in front of groups, less overthinking, and greater adaptability when the unexpected happens.

How big is a class?

Classes are small and intimate—around 10–16 students—so everyone gets plenty of practice and personal guidance.

What age groups can join?

Adult classes welcome everyone from around age 16 up to their 50s. For younger learners, we have Kid Improv (ages 6–12) and Teen Improv (ages 13–17).

How long is Level 1?

6–8 sessions, 2 hours each. If you have a busy schedule or live outside Saigon, you can take the Level 1 Intensive and complete it in a single week.

Who teaches the classes?

Our lead instructor is Vân Possible, a Fulbright scholar with a Master's in Communications who trained in improv at UCB and The Second City. Saigon Improv House also regularly invites international guest instructors to teach.

Where are classes held? Are there online classes?

All classes currently meet in person at our studio in central Saigon. Online Zoom classes were only offered during the 2021–2022 lockdowns.

Do you offer private classes for companies?

Yes. Check out our corporate workshops.
