Yes, and…
Do you ever feel…

Stuck in your head because you’re so afraid of messing up?

Many people come to Saigon Improv House exhausted from rehearsing every word in their head and trying so hard to get it right. Here, you have a judgment-free space to safely step out of your head.

“I don’t have a single artistic bone in my body.”

Afraid you can’t act

“I tend to overthink for a long time before speaking.”

Afraid of freezing up

“I’m always afraid of making mistakes and being judged…”

Afraid of looking foolish

“I want to stop trying so hard and feel less tense when talking to people.”

About the craft

Improv doesn’t teach you to “act”

At Saigon Improv House, we don’t memorize lines or follow a written script. Through the principle of “Yes, and…” (accepting and building), you practice deep listening, trusting your scene partners, and adapting to the unexpected. You don’t need to fix yourself—just a safe space to understand yourself better.

What is improv?
  • Focus
  • Creativity
  • Deep listening
  • Honest reactions
  • Communication
  • Collaboration

Improv shows

No script. No two nights are ever the same.

Every scene is created on the spot from unexpected audience suggestions. We perform in Vietnamese and English in Saigon, and have taken the stage in Hanoi as well as festivals in Manila and Singapore.

Founder

Vân Possible

Trần Thanh Vân (Vân Possible) holds a Master's in Communications on a Fulbright scholarship, and is a former lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC) and a bilingual MC. In 2019 in New York, she fell in love with improv and trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade and The Second City.

After working unpaid shifts selling tickets and stacking chairs until midnight at a 28th Street theater in exchange for watching shows, Vân opened her first class in Saigon in late 2020 and founded Saigon Improv House—a space where adults learn to let go.

Improv class isn’t where we learn to ‘act’—quite the opposite. It’s where we learn to drop the defensive shields and masks we have to wear in a judgmental world.Vân Possible
